      What is overlooked in the slavery reparations debate is the role of Africans in enslaving other Africans. King Tegbessou of Dahomey was the Rockefeller of the slave economy. Not only did he become fabulously wealthy from taking free men and women and enslaving them, he and his successors slaughtered hundreds, and at times thousands, of slaves in human sacrifice.
