Daniel’s ‘jump for joy’ boosts CAFOD’s Israeli-Palestinian Crisis Appeal

Daniel Lintott, a member of the Guildford circle of Catenians, has raised a whopping £3,470 for CAFOD’s Israeli-Palestinian Crisis Appeal – smashing his target by 247%!

Daniel chose a unique challenge to fundraise for CAFOD. On 14 April he took on a tandem skydive from 15,000 feet with GoSkyDive, from the Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury.

This is not the first time Daniel has raised money for CAFOD’s work. Last year, he abseiled 100m down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and raised £2,283 for the World Food Crisis Appeal.

Daniel spoke about the tragic situation in Gaza, and how the suffering and deaths of civilians and humanitarian aid workers motivated him to act: “I did the skydive for CAFOD because I’m a great admirer of the invaluable work the charity does around the world, helping those suffering from poverty and injustice. The situation in Gaza is extremely upsetting and it is shocking to see how much destruction and loss of life there has been. I’m determined to play my part in helping to make a difference to all the innocent people who are suffering.”

When asked about his experience of skydiving, Daniel said: “The tandem skydive was exhilarating and thrilling, unlike anything I’ve ever done before. It was an amazing experience and one that I will share with all my friends and family. The GoSkyDive team were brilliant, especially my instructor Matt and photographer Danni. I would like to say thank you to everyone who generously supported my fundraising.”

You can still donate to Daniel’s fundraising page and support CAFOD’s work in Gaza, helping families facing severe poverty caused by the ongoing conflict.
