Archbishop John Wilson presides over heartwarming cathedral Advent Carol Service

On Thursday 16th December at 7.30 pm, Archbishop John Wilson presided at an Advent Carol service in St George’s Cathedral, Southwark.  He was joined by the Cathedral Clergy and professional Choir, for music and readings of the season in the beautiful candlelit setting of the Mother-Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark.

“Advent is a time of expectation, and as we individually and collectively prepare for the Nativity of Christ, this is a wonderful opportunity to reflect and to be inspired by glorious melodies and ancient prophecies concerning the arrival of the Son of God.” the archdiocese said in a statement.

On Saturday 18th December the archdiocese held ‘A Day with Mary’, which included Mass, confessions, devotions, carols, and guest sermons from invited preachers.
